Com Tam Thien Hao is a straightforward Vietnamese restaurant nestled along the busy stretch of Beach Blvd in Westminster, an area known for its rich Vietnamese dining scene. This spot leans into the casual, no-frills experience typical of many Little Saigon eateries, making it a solid choice for a relaxed lunch or dinner where the focus stays firmly on classic Vietnamese flavors.

The atmosphere feels practical rather than polished, catering to a steady flow of locals who appreciate generous portions and familiar dishes like broken rice with a variety of proteins. The menu highlights—such as Cơm Tấm Sườn Bì Chả and BBQ pork served alongside fried eggs and eggrolls—reflect an emphasis on hearty, comforting meals rather than experimental cuisine. Pho is available here too, but most visitors seem to come for the broken rice specialties.

Service tends to be friendly and efficient, fitting the restaurant’s overall unpretentious vibe. Diners who stop by often mention portion sizes that satisfy a good appetite, with the shredded pork and specialty items offering some textural interest beyond the usual rice-and-meat combo. The flavors lean toward well-seasoned and balanced, though some find certain elements like the fish sauce or broth a touch on the salty side, which is worth noting if you prefer milder seasoning.

This spot is best for those who want a solid, unfussy Vietnamese lunch in a neighborhood setting—travelers or locals who prioritize taste and portion over ambiance. It’s busiest around typical meal times, reflecting its role as a dependable spot to grab a filling midday meal. If you’re exploring Westminster’s Little Saigon area but want to skip the pho crowds, Com Tam Thien Hao offers a familiar alternative centered on broken rice dishes and a genuine local flavor profile.

Owner is very dedicated and is an expert at her craft of Vietnamese food. You’ll definitely be feed well and experiencing flavor town. Would recommend this spot for any other travelers near the Westminster area wanting something tasty and delicious.

I ordered the special rice with everything (I think it's 43 or something, the one with Korean beef short ribs, not pork). The soup was a bit salty, the dipping sauce was good. The boneless short rib was a bit chewy. Give it a try and let me know what you think

The food wasn't bad, but I felt that the broken rice was a little bit drier than usual. The meat was well-seasoned and tasted good with the rice. However, the fish sauce was a bit too salty for my liking. Overall, it's a decent broken rice restaurant.

It’s correct with the rating’s average. Everything was well done enough for 4 stars.

Decided to try something different for lunch in Little Saigon today. Instead of opting for the many Phở places in Little Saigon, I went here and tried some Cơm Tấm. It tasted great and the portion size was generous. I liked the texture of the meat and the shrimp on the sugar cane as well as the shredded pork which complemented the rice. Dining experience was pretty good, my waiter was friendly.

This is a hole in the wall type restaurant. Waiting was long, very crowded and noisy. Table next to each other, feel like sardines. Their food plate #41 (broken rice with steam cake, grill shrimp paste on sugar cane, BBQ pork) and #45 (rice vermicelle with bbq pork and grill shrimp), both dishes were delicious, generous portion, enough to share. I won't dine in but definitely will order to go next time.

I would say this is the best restaurant for Com Tam from my own experience. I ordered Com Tam Suon Bi Tau Hu Ky (BBQ Pork Chop, Shredded skin, and Fried Shrimp Cake) as usual but this time I added a fried egg to it. It was amazing as usual and I have been returning to this restaurant multiple times whenever I crave some Com Tam. The staff are nice. The wait might be long as it is quite popular so be prepared to wait if you go during busy times or go as a big group since this restaurant is a bit small. Though, I strongly recommend this restaurant if you haven't tried Com Tam before or are craving it just like me!
